Pilot project to create a prototype of the national geospatial data infrastructure
9 October 2015 the State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy and Cartography and Cadastre Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) presented the project to create a national infrastructure of geospatial data.
Pilot project - prototype geospatial information infrastructure will last two years and will cover a total area of 900 km2.
In a single cartographic basis will be posted layers - data on the ground, their composition, communication and transport pathways of aquatic and forest fund. Access to information will be made through a single web portal.
Japanese Agency for International Cooperation (JICA) –the world's largest bilateral development agency that provides technical assistance, soft loans and grant assistance in various areas. Projects supported by JICA implemented in more than 150 countries.
In 2012, JICA and Ukraine agreed on a joint project to build a national spatial data infrastructure at the State Land Cadastre, in September 2015 began working with creation geospatial data infrastructure in pilot areas.
